I'M LIDIA.
I am an elementary school STEAM and Junior/Intermediate teacher living in Ontario, Canada! I have been teaching for 10 years and I have a passion for inquiry-based learning, robotics, coding, and all things STEAM art-related. I am excited to document my teaching journey with you through
The ART of INQUIRY.
Even at a young age I always knew I wanted to be a teacher. When I came home from my first day of kindergarten my mom asked me how my day was and I said "I want to be a teacher when I grow up!". From that day forward I was on the path to becoming a teacher!
As an Educator, I am always looking to learn, share and collaborate more. The education world is always changing and providing students with new learning experiences and tools is what I believe is at the centre of all learning.
My teaching philosophy promotes inquiry in the classroom. Keeping the student's voice as the center of any knowledge-building is key. Think of your students and yourself as part of a knowledge-building community that comes together to learn from each other, as opposed to the teacher as the holder of knowledge and the students as retainers of information.

I am committed to creating authentic experiences where students have complete AGENCY and OWNERSHIP in their learning. With thorough investigation and exploration of self-identity, I strive to have my students identify their passions and how we could incorporate them into our classrooms. From provocation to a guided inquiry, they worked towards developing their ACTIONABLE GOAL in our INQUIRY CLASSROOM!
Part of the reason I wanted the role I currently have as a teacher is because I have a passion for helping other teachers become confident in their abilities and ideas as an inquiry teacher.
As part of my personal learning and yours I have developed some courses for teachers to work one-on-one with me to help and guide you on your own personal inquiry journey. Explore the courses and programs I offer by using the button below.
